The housekeeping was very good, and the rooms are decent, but the location is extremely far from everything and very inconvenient. What really ruined it was the customer service. Last night we spoke directly with the hotel about a late checkout. They gave us a rate of £15 per hour, and we planned our travel around that confirmation. At checkout today, the receptionist dismissed us, said she “had no idea about this,” and shifted the blame. If the staff confirm a specific rate, the hotel should honor it. Guests shouldn’t have to deal with poor internal communication, and blaming someone else instead of correcting the mistake is unprofessional. Good housekeeping can’t make up for that sort of service or the location. I don’t recommend it.

After our wedding, we stayed two nights at the Lansbury Heritage Hotel in Poplar to unwind and celebrate. The calm, luxurious atmosphere never felt pretentious, and our room was beautiful, comfortable, and peaceful. We enjoyed it so much that we booked one more night. Ernest made the stay especially meaningful. He was kind, professional, and genuinely caring, and made us feel celebrated and looked after after such a big life event. The whole hotel felt warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Thank you to everyone at the Lansbury Heritage Hotel, especially Ernest. We’ll absolutely be back.

I’ve stayed at the Lansbury hotel several times over the past few months, and each visit has been excellent. The rooms are good, the food is nice, and it’s in a great spot near Canary Wharf. The staff are the best part. Ernest, Teja, and Sabrina all make a real effort to welcome you and make sure you’re looked after.

We stayed in January, and after reporting a sewage smell and a broken thermostat, we were told both issues would be fixed. They weren’t. With no other room available, we had to find somewhere else to stay. Tomasz was the only person who tried to help, though there wasn’t much he could do. The duty manager didn’t seem to care. The spa was also closed, and that should be made clear on all booking websites. A housekeeper who came out of an office was very rude when we asked whether the spa might be available. After reading other reviews, I can see it was never going to be an option anyway. The hotel calls itself a boutique four-star property, and that’s what the pictures online suggest, but it wasn’t like that in reality. Food choices were minimal too. The limited Indian menu should be advertised so people know what to expect when booking.
