The Lavender Guest House

The guest house was a few minutes’ walk from buses, trains, supermarkets, and great Cafes, and we were very happy with how well looked after we were. The room was large by London standards, nicely laid out, and very clean, including the ensuite. The bed was comfortable too. Location, comfort, and service were all excellent. We couldn’t have asked for more. We’ll be back next time we visit family and grandkids.

I liked the balance here: close enough to get into the city, but far enough out for some quiet. It’s a five-minute walk from Clapham Junction, with good transit access, though there’s no Tube access yet. Popular tourist spots may take a bit longer to reach than from central London, so factor that into your plans. The Lavender Guest House was cozy and homey on a quiet residential street, and a lovely place for my first trip to London. Tony was friendly and gave me useful advice on the best ways to get to the places I wanted to visit that day. It was a refreshing change from the impersonal feel of chain hotels. I’d absolutely stay again and recommend it.

The bed was huge, everything was very clean, and I loved having two kitchens, especially the one looking out over the outdoor space. Despite being in busy Clapham Junction, it wasn’t noisy at all. It’s a lovely guest house run by a warm, welcoming family. I’ll definitely return, it’s a little gem!

I found this guest house while searching Google Maps for a hotel in the area. The location was convenient and the price was better than the other hotels I compared it with. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’m really glad I chose it. The host is a lovely man who kept in touch before we arrived to make check-in smooth, then checked during our stay that everything was okay. Our room was spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. There’s a shared kitchen with tables and basic amenities, though you can’t use the hob, and you can bring your own meals. There’s also a beautiful backyard to enjoy if the weather is nice, plus they gave us a discount code for a local breakfast bar. The location is ideal, about a five-minute walk from Clapham Junction station, with loads of shops, restaurants, and pubs nearby. I’d definitely book here again.
