The Lilac Door

The host was super friendly and helpful, and my room was beautifully decorated and well equipped. The bathroom was lovely, and the bed was the most comfortable I've slept in away from home. The Lilac Door was spotlessly clean throughout. A really lovely two-night stay, highly recommended.

Jane made me feel comfortable from the start and was so welcoming. The clean home and my room were lovely, and breakfast was thoughtful and nicely presented. I'd happily stay again or recommend it.

Jane was a big part of what made this stay so lovely. She clearly has a wealth of life experience, is performance-trained, and works as an event planner as well as a B&B host. More than anything, she's a genuinely good person, full of heart and generosity. You can feel it in her cooking and conversation. I stayed two nights in early August 2022 and had two amazing breakfasts. Jane's communication before, during, and after was friendly, helpful, and gave just the right amount of information. The house is lovely, with beautifully designed details and finishes in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The food was delicious, and I'd recommend having breakfast. I had continental the first morning and cooked the next, and both were really well made with plenty to eat. There was proper butter, important, and they kindly offered more toast. Even the cereal bar had thoughtful touches, like a label on the bee pollen jar explaining its nutritional value. A wonderful experience.

Jane made everything easy, nothing was too much trouble for her. She's an incredible, welcoming host, and her beautiful home is so well thought out. Our room was lovely, exceptionally clean, and stocked with plenty of amenities. The bathroom was spotless, the linen and towels immaculate, and the bed super comfortable. It really felt like home. Breakfast was incredible too, and I honestly can't fault a thing. We stayed last weekend and loved the location, a great central spot for visiting the Crystal Palace area, with plenty of free street parking. What a wonderful find. We'll definitely stay again and can't wait to return. Thank you, Jane!
