The Mandrake

The Mandrake Hotel made a great setting for my photoshoot for my first menswear RTW collection. After more than 15 years in bespoke tailoring, this launch felt like a big moment, and choosing the hotel in London was one of my best decisions. It’s modern, elegant, and full of character, ideal for a creative or professional project. Hallie from the Events team was a huge part of making it work. She understood what I needed, kept every detail aligned with my vision, and was proactive, motivated, clear, quick to respond, and focused on solutions. Planning felt easy, and her energy and genuine enthusiasm mattered a lot at such an important point in my career. I’m grateful to the whole Mandrake team for their support. Hallie is someone I’d wholeheartedly recommend for organizing events, especially if you want a person who’s dedicated, efficient, and invested in your success. Thanks again for making the experience so memorable.

The hotel is in a great spot and has potential, and the rooms look nice, though they didn’t match the website photos. The sheets were dirty, the facilities felt poorly maintained, and breakfast service was inattentive. I had to ask several times what was in the dishes. My key card wouldn’t open the door, and after I came back late and tired, staff told me I had to change rooms. I waited while they showed me a smaller one, then had to pack everything and move without any compensation for the hassle. The new room had no working electricity, so I couldn’t even charge my phone and had to buy a charger. They charged me an extra £25 for it. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Damu Spa was a highlight. I had a facial and body massage among several treatments, then finished with the Origin Pool and Mud Cave, which made the stay even more memorable. I stayed in the incredible Mandrake Suite, one of the most unique luxury hotel experiences I’ve had. I often stay in signature suites around the world, but this one felt extraordinary: dark, spiritual, artistic, unforgettable. Elena made check-in perfect, and Illia was so kind and welcoming. He showed me around and explained the hotel’s idea that every soul has a light and dark side. The Penthouse represents the light with bright, open spaces, while the Mandrake Suite has the darker, more spiritual energy. It’s a meaningful concept that makes the hotel feel unlike anywhere else. I’m also excited about YOPO ZAYTOUN opening on the 14th of May. The Eastern Mediterranean concept sounds amazing. A truly exceptional stay from start to finish.

The location made it easy to get to lots of the places we visited, and we really enjoyed drinks in the bar. The hotel is beautiful, with art curated throughout, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
