I picked up a couple of bottles at Myddleton Road market. The spirits are excellent, and the dark rum is good even neat.

The gin is lovely, and you can tell the maker really cares about what he does. It makes most shop-bought gins seem plain. I tried it as suggested, with grapefruit and basil, and it made a beautifully refreshing G&T with a slightly sweet edge. Highly recommended. I’ll be back.

Ian kindly waited for us when my daughter, grandchildren and I visited this morning, on New Year’s Eve. He told us the wonderful story of the distillery and its history, both illegal and now legal. The rum is terrific, and the gin even better. My New Year’s Eve is looking better and better...

Fantastic small batch still, and lovely gin. I had the pleasure of meeting Ian, who walked me through the gin’s history and flavour profile.

Thanks to Ian for the fabulous gin tasting at Julian’s 60th last night. His enthusiasm is infectious, and the gin is addictive. It was great sweet or savoury, though I think savoury won the night. Thanks again.
