The One Tun Pub and Rooms

The venue has a lovely atmosphere, and the staff were pleasant and did their best, but the slow service and poor food made our office Christmas lunch disappointing. I ordered nut roast and was given chestnut mushroom Wellington instead, which tasted even worse than I expected. The flavors missed the mark completely. It’s a shame the kitchen doesn’t live up to the attractive setting. Even average food would make this a wonderful place.

Stopped by Saturday afternoon when it wasn’t too busy. Friendly staff and a good range of beers, wines, and spirits, plus some small bites. I understand there are 8 bedrooms here. I’ll come back to the bar.

The room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of amenities, and the location is excellent, just steps from the tube. The old building is part of its charm, but the stairs are narrow and steep and there’s no elevator. That could be difficult if you have mobility issues, though they do offer help with luggage. We were on the top floor, so getting up there was my cardio for the day, lol.

Tasty food at reasonable prices, and the staff were friendly. It gets quite loud, but that adds to the atmosphere. Handy for getting home too, just 2 minutes from Farringdon station.
