The Royal Foundation of St Katharine

The yurt cafe does good light meals and drinks during the day, and breakfast was very good, included in the price. It was continental rather than a fry-up, but still really nice. Limehouse DLR and local buses make getting around easy. Given the location, it was quiet, and the bed was excellent, so I got the good night's sleep I was after. I wouldn't hesitate to book again. Also, it was nice not having a TV in the room.

The DLR station is right beside the property, which made it easy to get around, even though this is a bit out of the way for central London. I was here for an event at the nearby Troxy, so the location worked well. My single room was small but had what I needed for one night, and reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. It felt expensive for this part of London, though, so the price is the main reason I'm unsure about staying again.

My parents stayed for more than a week and absolutely loved it. They especially enjoyed the food and the calm atmosphere, and the room suited their needs well. Limehouse is a lovely, undiscovered gem, with walks along the Thames and canals, and down to Wapping or Canary Wharf. The train is right nearby, and central London is close. I don't agree with people who say it's far, though you have to travel around London wherever you stay. I can't wait for my parents to visit again so we can have afternoon tea!

I heard RFSK had started serving Sunday roast, so I had to try it. It was delicious and really affordable, especially compared with the prices of Sunday roasts around East London. I love visiting St Katharine’s, and this has made the area even more charming.
