The breakfast had so many great options, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were spotless and surprisingly quiet. It felt like a peaceful escape from the busy streets, and I slept like a baby. The location made it easy to explore London on foot. Had the best stay at Sofitel St James. Everything was spot on, and I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in London!

Ryoku was wonderful, helping me check in and sort out an issue with my accor account. Sandy was kind too, and showed me around the hotel and my room. I’ve just checked in, but the welcome has already made a strong impression. I stay in nice places around the world, and staff attitude is often what makes the difference. After a string of hotels with subpar service, this was a great welcome. Sofitel usually delivers, and the staff here have been so friendly. The hotel and room are very nice too.

The water problem was a real inconvenience. A leak meant the whole hotel’s water was shut off just as we were getting ready for the opera. We’d been told it would be back in time for showers, but it wasn’t. I was offered a shower in a building across the street, which felt awkward, and then had to walk back in sandals in the rain. Marine Lutz, the Front Office Manager, took responsibility straight away and offered a discount for that night. She handled it professionally, and we had no further problems. The rest of our stay at the Sofitel London St James on May 10th was lovely. An incredibly friendly doorman greeted us, and the building felt luxurious from the moment we entered. Our generous, beautifully designed accommodation was more like a lavish contemporary apartment than a standard hotel room, with a white slatted divider, dining space, mid-century modern chairs, a cluster of mirrors, and a striking wavy rug. The kitchen bar area had plush stools and backlit wooden shelves. We had fantastic meals at both Wild Honey and the bistro, and the Phantom of the Opera themed afternoon tea was a spectacularly unique experience. The bar staff were exceptionally friendly and mixed amazing cocktails. The location is central and walkable to many key spots, and we were close to the newest Banksy sculpture installation. It’s a gorgeous property with top-tier amenities and a team that cares about making things right when the unexpected happens.

We had breakfast included in our six-night stay, and that was a great decision. The staff treated us beautifully every morning, and the food gave us a lovely start to each day. We enjoyed every lunch and dinner through room service too. Special thanks to everyone at the Rose Lounge for the way you looked after us and for the Phantom of the Opera afternoon tea surprise that came with our dinner room service the evening before checkout. I can still picture the lovely display of savoury delicacies and the wonderful Happiness tea. Many thanks to the chefs for the outstanding food. Every day, housekeeping left our room spotless and replenished still water and all the toiletries and other amenities. It was comforting to return to a clean room with everything we needed. The staff across the front desk, guest relations, concierge, Rose Lounge, and restaurant all gave exquisite service and left us with beautiful memories. We don’t know everyone’s names, so we won’t list just a few and leave anyone out. Thank you all! The hotel combines elegant style with a great dining experience. It’s in a superb central spot, tucked away from the busy center but within walking distance of Fortnum & Mason, the National Gallery, the exquisite Courtauld Gallery, the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden, and many other landmarks. We treasured our stay at Sofitel St. James London. On the day we finished our London vacation, our breakfast host said, “until next time.” Thank you for a memorable stay, and until next time!

We stayed eight nights and found the staff welcoming, professional, and engaging throughout. Special thanks to Jasmine and Georgina for making our stay exceptional. The restaurant team are great ambassadors for the brand, anticipating what guests need and making an effort to remember them and their preferences. Our room had two twin beds, good furnishings, and very comfortable beds and bedding. We had breakfast there every morning for its quality and wide selection, and we returned to the bar a second time after trying some of its unique drinks. Sofitel St James is close to many key tourist spots, including Buckingham and Kensington Palaces, Fortnum and Mason, Claridges, and Covent Garden. The theatre district and great restaurants are nearby too.
