The Zetter Bloomsbury

The orangery was the standout for us, a beautiful place for breakfast, afternoon tea, or events. With its terrace and garden, it also gives you a rare green retreat in central London. We had a wonderful birthday surprise stay at the luxury boutique Zetter Bloomsbury. The interior has high-end design and distinctive furniture, and the food was great. We also met the head chef, who introduced the menu with real enthusiasm. Everyone on staff was welcoming and attentive. We’ll be back.

The garden was such a lovely surprise, tucked away and beautifully kept. We enjoyed the idea of having a drink there at sunset or playing croquet. The location worked perfectly for me too: Covent Garden, SoHo, TCR and Oxford Circus are walkable, but the hotel feels peacefully tucked away from all that bustle. With its discreet entrance, the Zetter might be easy to miss, but inside it feels more like a home than a hotel. The restored residential details and intimate places to relax with people you love make it feel special without losing its warmth. The staff were friendly and the service was great. Our room, #25, was gorgeous, with double-height ceilings, curved bay windows, a four-poster bed, a roll-top bath and a generous, powerful shower. I’ve already booked another stay. A must visit.

The beds were luxurious, and I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages. Everyone on staff was lovely and nothing felt like too much trouble. It feels like a hidden gem among Georgian townhouses in a peaceful part of central London, with a secret garden backing onto The British Museum. I spent a night at The Zetter Bloomsbury and had a wonderful 24 hours. The hotel is beautifully and thoughtfully designed. I enjoyed burgers, sausage rolls and Scotch eggs by the fire in the lounge, and breakfast in the Orangery was great too.

The breakfast was a pleasant surprise: tasty à la carte choices at reasonable prices instead of the overpriced buffet you get at many hotel chains. The common areas have plenty of charm, from the lovely drawing room and quaint garden to the impressive bar and great cocktails. We tried this new Zetter hotel for a family weekend. The room was cosy, but it left us underwhelmed. We paid just under £500 a night for a “Deluxe” room that felt quite basic and smaller than the advertised 21 sq m, especially compared with Zetter Marylebone and the attractive photos online. We’ll come back for cocktails, aperitivo and breakfast, but next time we’ll stay at Zetter Marylebone.
