We were told to expect a pleasant little room in a good location, reasonably tidy and nice to look at. What we got was a tiny place about an hour from the city centre, with mold in the bathroom and someone’s hair on the sheets. There weren’t any blankets or covers, neither bedside lamp worked, and the shower water smelled. The whole place was untidy. I’ve included photos to show how awful it was. Absolute scam and a horrible place.

The washer was clean, but the dryer didn’t work. The outdoor area could use proper upkeep too. I noticed a broken fence when a cat came in to greet me while I was sitting by the backyard. It was all right for a short stay, but the place was completely run down and barely maintained. There was only one blanket available, and I was lucky I’d brought my own. The kitchen was something else: one resident cooked fishy food and the whole building stank all night, so I avoided the kitchen. I felt like washing the utensils and pans I used three times because the other tenants hadn’t cleaned them properly. The kettle was full of limescale, so I resorted to doing the American thing and microwaving water. I didn’t feel safe in the neighborhood, and kept the door and windows closed to feel safer and avoid thieves.

Wouldn’t stay here again. The washing machine ran all night, I booked a double but got a single, and there was no TV remote. With the lack of sleep and facilities in the room, I couldn’t stay. Cracked tiles, loose taps, and I could go on. I paid for three nights, stayed less than 12 hours, and lost over £100. It wasn’t as advertised. As I walked in, a lovely neighbor also mentioned the house had several cases of Covid 19. A horrible experience.

This place was a nightmare: filthy, smelly, hair everywhere, mold, and an undisclosed room. I had to buy a sleeping bag, got no refund, and had to find somewhere else to stay. It ruined my trip and wasted my money. SCAM, don’t book this horrible place!
