Threadneedles, Autograph Collection

The bar has a lovely atmosphere and was a great place to unwind, though it closed earlier than I would have liked. The staff were friendly, attentive, and accommodating throughout. Threadneedles is a beautiful old London building, I believe it was once a bank, with rich dark woods, mahogany and cherry tones, marble details, and plenty of old-world character. It's also well placed for work, within walking distance of Lloyd's, the Gherkin, and much of the London insurance district. The interior is a little dark for my taste, but it suits the heritage style. I had a really nice stay and would happily recommend this solid Autograph Collection property. Hopefully the rooms will get a refresh soon.

The hotel is in a historic former bank, and it manages to feel modern and stylish while keeping that lovely character. It's right in the City, with restaurants, bars, and sights all within an easy walk, so it worked perfectly for our London staycation. We were pleasantly surprised by an upgrade to a large room. Beautifully designed and very comfortable, it had loads of room to relax after a day in the city. It felt more like a luxury apartment than a hotel room.

What made this one of my best stays was the staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful and accommodating, from the front desk to the restaurant and bar teams. The hotel is centrally located and part of Marriott's signature or Autograph Collection, which tends to mean boutique style or luxury. This one was both. I highly recommend it and will definitely return.

We paid £160 for a premium room, and for the room and its view that was exceptional value for the night. The staff were kind and friendly, too. Great experience, and I'd happily come back and recommend it.
