That slow-cooked beef! I’d never tried it before, and after eating it yesterday I felt like I should go have tea with the King. I’m visiting London on holiday and I’m not even from here. I wandered around after dinner, half hoping he might be passing by. 🤣 I felt bad about leaving food behind because I didn’t know if there was a takeaway option, though I was in for tea anyway. 😂 I’ve been coming to The Porchester for dinner and a chat for the last two nights. The fish and chips were proper comfort food, and I’m going back again tonight to see what the third time brings. Honestly, no matter what they serve me, I’ll eat it. The young chef is amazing, and the staff are unbelievable, attentive to the little things and full of London smiles. Great people and a great place to spend time in London. Peace. ✌️
We were visiting from Wilmington, NC, and ducked into The Porchester for food while waiting for our train from Paddington Station. It ended up being a highlight of the day. I’m a big fan of British pub food, and the Scotch egg was spot on, with a crisp golden outside and a really tasty filling. The food was excellent, the drinks were great, and the service was top-tier. The pub has a lovely traditional feel, from its handsome exterior and classic layout to the relaxed neighborhood atmosphere. It’s in a lively part of Bayswater and Paddington, areas that grew from rural hamlets into fashionable Victorian residential districts in the 19th century, helped along by Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s design for nearby Paddington Station in the 1850s. A great spot to unwind, whether you live nearby or are passing through. A flawless London pub experience!
We were seven and booked dinner at the last minute. The staff at the Porchester were so kind and made room for us. Grace and Owen looked after us really well, huge thanks to them. The fish and chips were delicious and the portions generous. The vegans in our group loved the veggie sausage and mash too. There’s music and a nice atmosphere, but you can still chat. It was just a little hard to hear people across our table because we were such a large group.
Really nice bar and restaurant, with a good vibe. The food was excellent, especially the Sunday toast, and the staff were friendly with good service. Book ahead for weekends and festive public holidays.
The decor is tasteful and everything was clean and tidy. The staff clearly put in a lot of effort, and the service was outstanding. I didn’t eat, but the food looked excellent. I’ll definitely come back on my next visit, possibly next week, and update this with photos and comments then. Truly outstanding, highly recommended.
