TLK Apartments & Hotel - Beckenham High Street

I booked TLK Apartments, then asked for a refund just 10 minutes later when I realized they were putting me in the same room where I’d had a bad experience before. I explained immediately and never even stayed in the room, but got no understanding or decent customer service. Staff were dismissive, communication was poor, and they handled the whole thing badly. If this is how they treat people before check-in, I can only imagine what happens when problems come up during a stay. I wouldn’t recommend it. Plenty of places are more professional and actually value their customers.

I’ve stayed in these apartments several times, knowing they’re a budget option, but this visit went too far. The trouble started on day one. After my first night I woke up covered in insect bites. I moved the bed to look and found a thick layer of dust, dirt and who knows what underneath. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Disgusting, and it left me wondering what else might be living there. There were two of us booked for 17 days, but the room had only 1 fork, 1 knife, 1 bowl and 1 coat hanger. It was badly equipped and showed no care or preparation for guests. Customer service was just as bad, with no empathy, apology or attempt to sort anything out. I cancelled the 17-day stay and got a refund, which was the only good thing about the whole disaster. I won’t return or recommend it, no matter how low your expectations are. Basic cleanliness and respect should be the minimum, and even that isn’t guaranteed here.

We were really happy with our room. The bed was clean and very comfortable, and everything seemed fine. The price was good, too. I don’t think the bad reviews about these apartments describe them anymore. It looks like the rooms have all been renovated. We had no problems at all, and will definitely come back if we need a place in beckenham again. Thanks.

Communication was very good, and getting in was easy. The room was clean and comfortable, with all the facilities we needed for a family night in Beckenham at a reasonable price. You can see that a lot of effort is going into making an older property affordable, clean and easy to use. Anyone criticizing the venture should take a moment to recognize that work. Good luck to you. We’d come back if we need to, and this will be the first place I check. Thank you!
