The shower let the stay down a bit, since the water pressure or temperature wasn't quite right. Otherwise, I found the rooms comfortable, the facilities satisfactory, and the staff friendly and accommodating. Torquay House (Royal Oak) is conveniently placed for nearby attractions and transport, and the atmosphere was welcoming. An enjoyable, budget-friendly option for a convenient stay in the area.

Getting around was easy from this spot, with public transport and local shops close by. I really enjoyed staying at Torquay House: my room was bright, clean and well cared for, and the building felt safe. The staff were friendly and happy to help, which made settling in easier. I'd definitely recommend it as a comfortable, affordable place in London.

The staff made my stay at Torquay House in London feel special. They were incredibly friendly, helpful and there whenever I needed them, so I felt welcome and comfortable the whole time. The building was clean, modern and well maintained, with all the essentials, and the location was excellent for getting around on public transport. Laura, the House Manager, really goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. She listens to any concerns and deals with them quickly. The building and facilities are impeccably clean and very well cared for, thanks to the hard-working management team and volunteers, even compared with other LHA hostels. The weekly fee is well below local market rates, so I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to get settled in London long term.

I spent six months here and came away with beautiful memories. The area has supermarkets, little shops, soccer fields and parks nearby, and the place always felt very safe to me. My studio was modern, comfortable and beautiful, with its own kitchen and bathroom. There are also two shared kitchens and two lovely terraces with good views. Everything was kept very clean, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. Coming home from work at night was reassuring because someone was always at the door, watching who came in, and they were very kind. I'm truly grateful!
