We’ve stayed at Club Quarters Hotel every year for three years because the pricing, quality and hospitality have been consistently excellent. Staff are there 24/7, and Nalin deserves a special mention for going above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We’ll definitely be back. It’s in a great spot just off Trafalgar Square on Northumberland Avenue, about a 2-minute walk from the Underground, making it a great pick for Covent Garden and the Trafalgar area. The grand marble lobby makes a lovely first impression, and there’s a wheelchair lift at the entrance with staff on hand to help. The rooms are surprisingly spacious for London, especially on higher floors, where you get spectacular city views. The beds are clean and comfortable, the pillows are soft, and the rooms are generally quiet. The shower area could use a little cosmetic refresh, but the bathroom was clean, had quality gel and shampoo, and came with great towels. There’s a brilliant free coffee machine in the guest breakout area, worth using before paying £5 a cup elsewhere in London. Complimentary water bottles are provided, and each corridor has ice machines and ice-cold water dispensers at the end. There’s also a direct internal door to the famous pizza place next door, which is very convenient.

A big thank you to Duty Manager Nalin, who really saved the day when a delivery company left my package in the wrong area under a fake name. It wasn’t the hotel’s responsibility, but he took the problem on as if it were his own, showed real empathy and initiative, and wouldn’t give up until he found and recovered it. He also protected the hotel’s reputation. The housekeeping team is flawless, the front desk staff are very welcoming, and the location feels unbeatable and very safe. The hotel has a great fitness center, a good restaurant at the entrance, and one of London's best pizza places right next door. There are large, quiet co-working spaces with printers on every floor, which is almost like having your own office. The rooms are incredibly spacious and airy by UK standards, with high ceilings of around 4.5m. It’s an old-fashioned but majestic hotel with a central, historic feel, and the rooms are well-equipped, including a coffee machine and tea setup replenished daily. It works perfectly for leisure or business. I’m extremely happy with my stay, and this will be my only address in London from now on.

Nalin at the front desk made my short visit feel more like visiting a relative than spending a night in one of the world’s busiest cities. The staff made all the difference, thank you so much. Being close to everything was incredibly convenient too. I’ll definitely return on future visits.

The location is very convenient, but that’s about the only thing I’d recommend. The room was large, though badly in need of renovation. The dark furniture feels from another era, and I can’t remember the last time I saw a desk with a media panel. Every bedroom drawer was full of extra bedding, leaving nowhere for our own things, and there was no in-room safe. The bed was oddly close to the window despite all the space. It’s an old, single-glazed sash window that does nothing to keep out the cold, so whoever sleeps on that side wakes up cold each night. The heating vent is behind the bed, so you can’t run it overnight. Once you’re awake from the cold, the fridge’s clicking and rattling makes it hard to get back to sleep. The bathroom also feels dated, and it reminded me how much I dislike shower curtains. The linen, pillows and duvet were very good, and the corridor water stations are a good idea, but those positives don’t make up for the negatives. The reception and check-in area also fell short for this price level: the desk is tiny, and there’s an obvious push to get guests to use the self-service station.

The location is hard to beat for tourists wanting to explore the area. Check-in was easy and early, the beds were very comfortable and we slept brilliantly. We had an amazing stay, and the ground-floor bar serves food as well.
