Travelodge London Belvedere

The missing belongings and the staff’s lack of accountability made this a very disappointing stay. My aunt’s iron was mistakenly taken by staff, and my cousin had to confront them to get it back. My partner’s white platform Crocs also went missing. Before checkout, my partner’s friend left them by the door. He’d been sharing the room with someone else, and when that person checked out later, he confirmed he’d left the Crocs in the room and hadn’t taken them to reception. Staff said they hadn’t seen them, which didn’t make sense to us. We’re convinced one of the hotel cleaners stole them. We became very cautious with our valuables, including gift envelopes. The room had no fridge, and Wi-Fi was very limited. Between the missing items and poor amenities, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone who values honesty, security or basic comfort.

For five days our room had no heat, and there was no WiFi unless you paid for it. We only got a small portable heater on the last day, after a man told us the heating was broken. A tall woman I spoke to was disrespectful and didn't help us. The lifts and corridors smelled of cannabis, though I couldn't tell where it was coming from. I won't return and wouldn't recommend this place. I'd rate it below one star if I could.

The toilet was never washed properly, and there aren't extra pillows in the rooms anymore. Staff can be quite micro-aggressive, too. One tall woman with very bushy eyelashes and a grating voice came into our room before checkout, even though she could have waited until 12. Staff shouldn't be opening room doors before checkout time.

The pub across the road was nice and quiet, with drinks at reasonable prices, and there’s an Asada on the other side where you can pick up things for your trip. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. It was about a four-minute walk to belverdere station. I enjoyed my stay.
