It was a very pleasing stay, and despite the central location, the rooms were spotless and quiet. They’re compact, though comfortable enough for two, with a huge bed that fits well, a decent sized TV and tea and coffee facilities. The reception area is well stocked if you run out during the night, and the pass-key access at night gives some reassurance about basic security. All the staff were lovely and accommodating. Assistant Manager Erasmo was especially welcoming, always smiling and knowledgeable. There’s no food onsite beyond a vending machine, but plenty of nearby places cover all sorts of needs, from Whole Foods and other shops to Jack's at the Junction for a filling smoothie or a full-on English. A couple of late-night bars are a minute away, with more within 5-10 minutes. We enjoyed walks and got some work done locally. Waterloo is about 15 minutes door to platform. Parking is perhaps the only issue, but there’s parking nearby and frequent trains and buses in whichever direction you want to go. Central London is moments away, though staying here also gives you the chance to pass through local communities and see more of their culture than what’s shown on the news.
The staff were great, though I barely had any interaction with them. The room was far too hot with no air-conditioning, and opening the window only made the noise worse. I paid extra for a Super Room because it advertised blackout curtains, but they weren’t blackout and the room was tiny. Don’t waste your money. I stayed this week while working nights nearby and paid nearly £800 for the week. I’d get back around 05:00, then at 08:00 sharp the construction workers started banging on walls, shouting and dropping things on the roof. It sounded like things were falling through, and kept me awake. I understand they have a job to do, but guest comfort was completely disregarded. They should leave the noisier work until the afternoon. I couldn’t sleep anyway, but the curtains certainly didn’t help. Probably the worst hotel and week of my life. I won’t come back. There’s a Premier Inn down the road, and I’d suggest staying there.
The location in Clapham Junction was ideal, and both the room and service were great. I stayed for two weeks to visit family nearby, and Erasmo went well beyond what I expected. I couldn't recommend him or the hotel more.
The room was compact, but clean, quiet and comfortable. The coffee machine and Kit Kats in the premium room were a nice extra, and checking out at noon helped too. I wasn't expecting much, but paying extra for a room on the 7th floor worked out perfectly. The staff were friendly and kept my bag while I waited for the 3 pm check-in. When I came back to check in at 7 pm, the receptionist helped move me from a ground-floor twin to a corner double on the top floor.
The twin room was fine and about what you'd expect, though a little cold until we put the heating on. One receptionist was polite, friendly and helpful when we arrived. Later, when we asked for an extra towel because only one had been left, the receptionist on duty was rude. The location is hard to fault, right by the train station, with a bus stop opposite and cafes nearby. For the price and transport links, I'd possibly book again and would recommend it if you need a convenient base in London. The rest of our stay was fine.
