The hotel's location is a plus: it's close to the south western rail, a bus stop, and several grocery stores. The room worked as a room, which is why I'm giving it two stars, though the shower drained so slowly that it made a huge mess every time. The building is in disrepair, there's an unpleasant smell, and every little noise carries. Even with the window open on a downright cold day, the room never cooled down. Rooms aren't cleaned unless you stay more than 6 nights, and I wouldn't be surprised if housekeeping was slamming doors on purpose. The front desk agent laughed when I asked about ending my reservation early to move to the Wimbledon hotel. I understand the booking rules and that they didn't have to make an exception. My complaint is the laugh and the “ha ha ha, no,” when a simple no would have done. The corporate website said this was comparable to the hotel in Wimbledon, but it isn't, especially with no AC at this location. It loses three stars for rude staff, deferred maintenance, and lack of service. I know it's a discount hotel, but staff can still be kind and provide decent service. I'll stay somewhere else next time I visit my family member.

I complained and cancelled my second night because of the disruption. I was told I'd get a refund, but I'm still waiting for it to be processed. At Travelodge Raynes Park, parking was a big problem: there were hardly any spaces, I had to squeeze into a spot I'd essentially made myself while ensuring I wasn't blocking anyone, and restrictions on nearby roads left few alternatives. The room was below standard too, with a sticky patch of carpet to the left of the bed, and the shower didn't work until the next morning. Noise late at night was unacceptable. Large groups of teenagers and young adults, apparently under the influence, played loud music and showed little regard for other guests. I couldn't sleep until after 2:30am, even though I had to get up early. A very poor stay, and I wouldn't recommend it given the parking, room condition, disruption, and unresolved refund.

The rooms were clean and up to the usual Travelodge standard, and the staff were very accommodating. Breakfast had a good range of choices. There's a fast train to Waterloo a very short walk away, making it a super location for a trip into London. I'd definitely stay again.

The cooked breakfast was delicious, and the bar and café were brilliant for pre-party drinks at fair prices. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location worked perfectly for a family party.
