We were part of a large group staying for a family wedding and could compare rooms. More than six of our rooms had no working air conditioning, even with temperatures at 28-30°C that weekend. Reception couldn’t get it fixed and handed out fans instead. The staff were very apologetic, and I gave them five stars because I don’t blame them. The fault lies with Travelodge for not maintaining the AC, and the sudden heatwave made the problem worse. The rooms were clean, though there was no shower mat or towel to step onto. One of the main double rooms in our group had no electricity, but staff fixed that promptly. The 12 hours of free guest parking helped make up for some of it. The hotel is in a shopping mall, and the car park doesn’t belong to Travelodge. The stay was still very unpleasant. Boy racers use the enclosed streets to show off with loud exhausts, revving, and backfires, and it stayed noisy until well past 1:00 am.
I booked this because it cost less than staying in central London, and it worked out great. The tube is two minutes down the road, and it’s only a 20-minute ride to the city centre. Shops and food options are nearby too. The building felt very secure, since you can’t get in without a key card. The rooms were clean, the staff were lovely, and I’d definitely stay again.
The room was clean and the staff were friendly. The area wasn’t nice, which is why the hotel keeps its main doors locked and only lets you in with a key card. If you sleep with the windows open, you’ll hear police sirens and shop alarms all night.
At Travelodge Wood Green, the staff were welcoming and always happy to answer questions. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. It was a simple but pleasant visit, and I’d consider staying again.
The receptionist refused walk-ins and pushed me to book another hotel 20 minutes away, even though she said 17 rooms were free. Two of my work colleagues were already staying here, so she knew our company had good credit and could have given me a room until the website came back. It had been down for over two hours, and she did nothing to help sort it out. She was rude and completely unhelpful, a disgrace to the company.
