There’s no playground, which I actually think is a good thing. In the sunny months, the cricket club brings a joyful spectacle, and Arthur's restaurant at the end is very good, even though it used to be a public loo (!). Weekends bring fitness clubs, and there are lots of events for kids. It’s quite a little triangular haven.

There’s a café and benches in this pleasant green space. Dogs are off lead, though.

The sunsets here are lovely, so it’s a nice place to sit for a while. It’s also a good green space for sports. I do worry about bringing my dog because the area isn’t properly fenced, especially since a local dog was hit by a bus.

The kids had a fab time, which I guess is what it’s all about. There wasn’t much for adults, and plenty of the stalls felt pointless, but there were lots of things for children: funfair rides, candy floss and hotdogs. A stage had a band playing Rock N Roll, though that was more for the oldies. Overall, 7/10 x

You can get to this beautiful green space easily by public transport, and there’s parking too. A few shops around the green sell drinks and nibbles, with a pizza place at the bottom. When the cricket club is open, you can use the loos and buy very cheap drinks.
