During our 35-day stay, the internet was unreliable enough that I had to buy a mobile router and data plan for work. Emails to Urban Rest could take 48 hours to get a reply, and unauthorized entry into the apartment without notice was reported. The advertised games room, gym, pool, and sauna were only in the main building, so residents had to travel to use them. The building had problems too. Its main automatic entrance doors didn’t work, which could be a health and safety issue in a fire. Only two elevators were working, one serving the basement car park, and waits got long at busy times. The car park barriers and intercom were out of order, so residents had to call security on a mobile phone to get access, sometimes waiting up to 10 minutes. In the apartment, the heating controls didn’t respond and the underfloor heating didn’t work properly, leaving the temperature at no more than 24 degrees Celsius. The air conditioning ran constantly and couldn’t be switched off. The alternative fan heaters supplied were noisy and could overheat, creating health and safety risks. At £245 per day, this level of service was unacceptable.

I’ve stayed in several Urban Rest Stratford flats five times now, usually when I can book for 30 days or longer. They’re roomy, lovely places, kept in good shape and managed well. Whenever I have a question or need something, the Urban Rest staff are quick to respond and very capable.

The rooms had enough space for my two toddlers to move around, and the area felt safe and quiet. Getting around was easy too, with Stratford station and the Stratford Westfield mall only a minute or two away on foot. Urban Rest have been attentive and quick to reply whenever I needed something. This was my second stay, and I’ll definitely come back.

We spent three weeks in a two-bedroom apartment in the Xavier Building at Coopermaker Square, booked through Booking.com. Westfield Mall and Stratford Station are about three minutes away, and the building has modern facilities such as a gym, sauna, steamer and swimming pool, shared by residents and guests. The security was excellent, and the customer support team were friendly and helpful. My one letdown was getting no reply before the stay: I sent several emails and an SMS to their UK number asking about early check-in, but heard nothing.

Really lovely apartment, and it had everything we needed. The facilities are fantastic, and the place is so convenient. I’d happily recommend it.
