The front desk employees were very nice, understanding and apologetic, though they couldn’t refund me or move me because the hotel was full. The location is good, between Soho and the Theatre District, and the building has a beautiful historic exterior, but the inside design is nothing special. The room and hallways were dirty, with dirty carpets, a hot, stinky corridor and towels that smelled unclean. The bathroom was moldy and mildewed, the toilet flush button was broken, the sink was cracked, and the cracked floor sloped like a funhouse. There was no AC in the hallways. One lift was completely broken and the other only worked going down, so we had to carry our suitcases up six stories. The motion-activated lights on the first through third floors of the stairwell were out, and the inside of the lift was dirty. Would not recommend.
The location is fabulous, next to Leicester Square, close to public transport and right in the middle of an active nightlife. The staff were also very friendly and professional. Still, we had a disappointing stay after being excited by the reviews and location. The rooms are certainly cozy: ours was very small, with only a bed and no chairs or desk or table. Of the two very small elevators, one didn’t work and the other only worked some of the time. We were on the fifth floor and had to take the stairs most of the time, including hauling our luggage down at checkout. The AC in our room was broken most of the time. We called three times, and someone came to reset it, which got it working for a few hours. Other guests we spoke with in the hallway, also dealing with the elevators, said their AC wasn’t working either. The location comes with a small room, and hopefully working elevators and AC.
We stayed one night in room 312. The room was very nice, clean and well presented, with nice facilities and a hospitality tray. There was a great view of Leicester Square and no noise at all. The price was fantastic for this location, and I’d definitely stay again.
Our room was upgraded to a beautiful superior deluxe double, and it was lovely and spacious. Victory House feels modern and really attractive. The staff were amazing, especially Aparna, who went above and beyond to make our stay the best experience.
The room changes and poor condition made this stay really disappointing, especially for €500 for two nights at a 4-star hotel. The second room had dirty sheets, used glasses with lipstick or mouth marks, a leaking sink, and was missing basics like cotton swabs that had been in the first room. We reported everything as soon as we got in, but more than three hours later, nothing had been done. At 11 p.m. they asked us to move yet again because the receptionist thought it was easier than just changing the sheets. That left us with more hassle and the hotel with less work, which felt completely unacceptable at this price and supposed standard. The room they called a “suite” seemed more like the deluxe room we’d originally booked. It was acceptable, but dusty and not 4-star quality. Check-in was rushed and cold, took only seconds, and came with no information about the hotel or our stay. We were first put in the wrong room category. When we queried it, the receptionist said the hotel didn’t have king-size beds, despite one being listed in the room description. Soon after, we were shown another room that did have a king-size bed, which was confusing. The price, service, and quality simply didn’t match.
