Wedgewood Hotel

We stayed at the Wedgewood hotel in London, and I wish my friend and I hadn’t. The first morning she woke with spider bites all over, and when we checked the beds we found bed bugs. We asked to move rooms, and the receptionist said he hoped the next room wouldn’t have bed bugs either. After checking the beds in the new room, we found a bloodstain on the sheets that had soaked through to the mattress, and blood spatter on the curtains. When we asked for clean sheets, we had to change them ourselves because the staff member didn’t know how. He also said, “that’s how cheap hotels are.” On the day we left, another receptionist told us to email for a refund and said they would definitely give us one. We never received it. The hotel said it was Booking’s responsibility, Booking said to contact the third party handling our reservation, and that company never answered our calls. It’s been three weeks, we spent €120 on calls trying to sort it out, and nobody would take responsibility. Please don’t give these awful, disrespectful people your time or money.

A lovely garden view and a fantastic location, with good value for money. The rooms are small, fine for one person but cramped for two. Staff were good, though some of the systems felt too focused on rules and not very customer-friendly.

We had an okay stay, nothing amazing, but definitely not awful. It’s basically a room with a bed. We were on the fourth floor, and the flowering shelf was slanted, which wasn’t ideal. Still, you can get in at any hour, and there was a receptionist at midnight, which was good.

Our room was small but cozy, clean, and well heated, and we had a great six-night stay. The real highlight was receptionist AZIZ. We love you, Aziz, and thank you for your hard work and kindness!
