Wembar Hotel

The room was damp, dirty, run-down and falling apart. There was faeces or blood on the wall, and it clearly hadn’t been cleaned. We obviously couldn’t stay, but they’re now trying to deny us a refund. I’m not even sure this should count as a hotel: you let yourself into self-service rooms, with no staff onsite.

The tube is about five minutes away and there’s a bus stop right outside, so getting around was easy. For the price and location, our two-night stay was really good. The rooms could use an update, but the staff were absolutely amazing and made up for that. I’d definitely return.

We had a basic, slightly small room, but it had what we needed to sleep and rest after long days exploring. For three nights, it was good value, especially with London prices. The staff were kind and helpful, and transport nearby made it easy to get around. If you just need somewhere simple to sleep, it does the job. For a short stay like ours, it was perfectly fine.

The room was upstairs, and we got the double room we booked. The sheets and floors weren’t very clean, and the bathroom didn’t look hygienic, so we cleaned the toilet ourselves before using it. The rooms were cold, and even after we asked, they didn’t give us blankets or extra duvets. The internet was very poor, and nobody cleaned our room during the day. We wouldn’t highly recommend the experience, and I think you could find somewhere similar that’s cleaner and much more central. Getting in was easy, and the Iranian receptionist was really helpful. The location is generally good, with buses right outside and the metro very close. There were also places to grab a quick bite in the evening. It’s affordable and well connected if all you need is a place to sleep overnight while spending the day out. If you stay, bring your own sheets.
