Wimbledon South by Allo Housing

For just under a hundred pounds a night, this wasn't what we expected. My colleague and I were booked by our company for a couple of work nights. The rooms were advertised as two doubles with private bathrooms. My colleague's room more or less matched that, but mine had no bathroom, only a shared one down the stairs and along the hall. My room was in a separate building halfway down the road from his. There was no staff on site or even a reception desk. Breakfast meant using a poorly stocked communal kitchen and cooking for yourself. This isn't a B&B, it's a hostel, and I've stayed in much nicer hostels.

We paid for a month and are still here, but we're so disappointed. We haven't slept well a single night or morning, and my husband asked the man to be quieter a couple of times. He was just rude. I work nights and need to sleep during the day, but that hasn't been possible. Don't stay here if you need rest. We're on the first floor by the outside door, which gets slammed constantly, most likely by the cleaner. From 8 in the morning until noon, every day, it happens three to five times in half an hour. The banging feels like it's in your head and shakes the walls. He also talks loudly on the phone and doesn't seem to care about the guests. If I ran the B&B, I'd expect him to work quietly.

Avoid this place if you don't want to share a bathroom and kitchen with 12 other tenants. It was a total mess, with someone always failing to keep things clean. There are much better options at this price.

The room was generally clean, but the bathroom wasn't so good. It has no ventilation and a lot of mould; the bathroom needs attention and the tiles need regrouting. The room could use repainting, with filler still showing, and the blind lets in light. There's also a broken shelf on the wall. The property needs some TLC. The email with the key code arrived late, and it was hard to get a response by phone to enter.
