Broadlands Park and Marina

There was no entertainment, and entry to what felt like a basic paddling pool was £5 per person. The staff on site said bookings were outside their remit, so they offered little or no help. My grandad has a disabled badge, but locals shunned him for parking nearby. Then a woman who said she was the grass cutter came onto our patio without being invited and put her head inside our chalet.

The lessons here are always great. The pool itself isn't especially large, and the changing area feels dated.

Free parking at the centre, and members can use the gym as well as the pool. There's a sauna, plus weekly aquacise and children's swimming lessons. The pool isn't huge or very deep, but it's fine for a workout or a splash about. It's usually a lovely, quiet place, though the extra families in summer can make it less relaxing.

The pool is lovely and warm, and our kids grew much more confident in the water because they could stand with their feet on the bottom. Some areas of the pool could do with a thorough clean.
