The reception staff were really welcoming. Our standard double was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The bed and pillows were the best, so comfortable, and we slept really well. We didn't book a sea view for a one-night stay, though I can imagine it would be worth the extra cost for a longer visit. We didn't eat there, but if the food is as good as the dining room view, it must be pretty special. We'd definitely stay again.

The room was in such poor shape that I left early: there was black mould, the water never got hot or even warm, and the room felt tatty. Breakfast brought more problems, and when I raised them with the woman at reception, she didn’t seem interested in sorting anything out. I’d already tried to resolve the room issues with her while I was there, but nothing changed. I booked through booking.com and contacted them about the condition of the room. Since checking out early, I’ve also emailed the hotel, but they’ve ignored me so far and refused to refund the booking. I’d strongly advise avoiding this place.

We came for the black and white ball and made a night of it. The servers were brilliant and helped whenever we needed anything, and the rest of our weekend stay was fantastic. The room was a letdown, though: the bed had pee stains and there was mould on the windows. We got a refund for it. Still, we had a lovely time and I’d definitely come back for another short holiday.

Friendly staff, a good breakfast and great value. The hotel has lovely, understated decor, and at last, a room where everything was where it should be. First class, really. Nothing more to say!
