We spent about £75 on lunch, and I left feeling a bit ripped off. I've eaten here many times over the years, but after lunch yesterday I thought the food standards had slipped. Staff and beer were great, but they said they were short staffed. There were dirty tables sitting around throughout our meal, so we ate looking at the remnants of other people's food. The staff who were there were rushed off their feet, and it wasn't their fault. The £15 crab sandwich special had only dark crab meat, no white, between the cheapest white bread, with a small salad garnish and nothing else. The fish finger sandwich was on cheap brown bread and was very dry, with just the smallest smear of tartar sauce. I couldn't eat most of the bread and just ate the nice fish inside. The kids' chicken goujons and ham and cheese sandwich were basic but fine, again with cheap bread. It seems like they're using cheap ingredients and cutting back on staffing while charging the same prices. With so many other places to choose from, I probably wouldn't pick them for lunch next time.

Dogs are welcome, and the pub has a cosy family atmosphere with good service. The hearty food includes freshly caught local seafood, all reasonably priced. It's right by the beach and the historic 'Cobb' harbour. Parking can be tight at peak times, so unless you arrive early, you may have to wait. Definitely recommend it.

Stopped by The Cobb Arms for a mid-afternoon drink and food. The barman greeted us warmly and the service stayed great from start to finish. Our drinks came quickly. We ordered fish & chips and ham, egg & chips, and the food was excellent and presented really well. Thank you.

We stopped in on a cold lunchtime with our dog. The staff were friendly, seated us and took our order, so that part was all good. The food was poor, though. My £12 fish finger sandwich on white bread, with tartar sauce, came with battered goujons that had very little fish and loads of grease. They hadn't been drained, and I couldn't eat it. There were no chips or side salad included. The garnish was grated carrot and red cabbage in a soy and sesame dressing, a very odd match for a fish finger sandwich. I ordered fries on the side, but they were over-fried and not good either. My partner's burger was okay, but he thought his chips were rubbish too. We complained about the sandwich and got an apology, but that's all. I'm afraid we won't be back.

The whole lemon sole from the specials menu was cooked perfectly, and my partner's confit duck was just as amazing. We shared the apple cake for dessert, which was brilliant. It was great value for money, and the service and food were exceptional. Big props to the welcoming, attentive FOH staff. Well done Cobb Arms 💜
