Lyme 1 Hotel

We stayed over a weekend, and with Lyme 1's central spot and beautiful sash windows, the Saturday fun could be heard. It didn't really bother us, though, as the room was so comfortable. They'd provided a noiseless fan, which really helped, and a smart TV so we could sign into Now TV and watch the Austrian Grand Prix, a nice bonus. The bed was very comfortable, and we liked the scenic window seat for eating breakfast from the hamper. I was really impressed by how clean the room was. The owners have thought of everything to make this historic building work for a modern stay.

I'd definitely stay again and recommend it. The room was spotless, very comfortable, if a little cramped, and the bathroom was nicely appointed. Next time I'd ask for a room at the back, since traffic and revellers could be noisy at the front. The breakfast basket was a nice touch, though I missed having the choice of a dining room. Our order was wrong on two of the three mornings: the wrong juice one day, and a pastry was missing the next. A small thing, but it mattered. We enjoyed our three nights here in May 2025.

The price is a bit towards the high end, though good value for Lyme. My partner missed having a cooked breakfast, but there are plenty of nice brunch places nearby. We slept really well in a very comfortable room, and they seemed to have thought of every detail. I especially liked the Bramley products in the bathroom.

The house is very well thought out, with attention to detail. Each morning a lovely lady brought breakfast to our room in a hamper, and there's a well-stocked kitchen with tea and toast if you want more. We had a lovely two-night stay, with a comfortable bed, ensuite bathroom and a spotlessly clean room. It's in a really good position at the top of town. I highly recommend Lyme one and would definitely stay again.
