The breakfast was lovely, and the staff made us feel welcome each morning. The hotel is nicely decorated too, so I can't call it a bad place. But the noise in room 28 carried on through my whole five-night stay in June '26. It sounded like an extractor fan humming and vibrating into the room. I told management the next morning; they checked and agreed there was a noise, but maintenance was off Tuesday. When I came back from golf on Wednesday night, it still hadn't been fixed, and it was the same when I left days later. The mattress was very cheap and uncomfortable, and after deciding I couldn't face another near-sleepless night, I drove five hours home from Dundalk on Friday, getting in at midnight. That Wednesday at 8pm, after losing my wallet, I asked if I could cancel Friday night. They said no because I needed to give 48 hours' notice. I explained I had no money and didn't know how I was meant to manage until Saturday morning checkout, or buy food. I had breakfast Thursday, and my daughter arranged click and collect for my late evening meal. I was playing golf in Dundalk on Friday. It left me feeling that money mattered more than customer needs or satisfaction. There was no flexibility around my wellbeing or having lost my wallet, and I won't stay there again. I'd give it one star, but the food and people were nice. Management should remember that reputation matters more than money.

The staff were nice, and the cocktails were good. The room itself was basic and far too hot at night. There was a thermostat, but we couldn't adjust it, and even with all the windows open it was hard to sleep. The pool was small but nice, though access was limited to 5-9 and 8-half 9, and you had to book a slot instead of just going down. The sauna was broken. Breakfast wasn't great either. The bar is in the hotel reception, so there's no separate bar space and you end up having drinks in the reception area. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it.

The carvery at lunch was especially delicious, and the rest of the food was lovely too. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and getting married, and the staff were so helpful and polite throughout. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable, and the stay was relaxing. We booked another visit before heading home. Thanks to everyone for making it unforgettable.

This really wasn't baby friendly. We were excited to bring our two daughters for a night away, but getting upstairs with the pram was difficult, and there's no lift. When I booked, I asked about reserving a swim, and was told we could just book when we arrived. We planned the whole day around the baby and the pool opening at 5, only to find it was fully booked. I was so upset, especially because my oldest daughter had been looking forward to seeing her sister in the pool for the first time. With the room up a full flight of stairs and no lift, we ended up getting a refund and going home with two very disappointed girls.

We had a wonderful stay, and Mathew was amazing. He found us a room that suited us even though we hadn't asked for one, gave us taxi numbers, and made sure we had all the information we needed. We'll definitely be back.
