The food was incredible. We started with Camembert, then had the steak and ale pie and beef chilli, followed by chocolate brownie and lemon mess. We were seated by the log fire in a nice, quiet room, and the service was great. It’s dog friendly too, and the dogs had a bowl of fresh water as soon as we sat down. Everyone made us feel welcome and relaxed. We’ll come back!

We only came in for a pint, but what a lovely, remarkable place. The landlady was so welcoming, and we had a good chat with her. Interesting guest wines, a top-notch menu, and a nice local crowd. Absolutely recommend. Tim and Sian

The fish and chips were delicious, with a generous serving, crispy chips, and tasty batter that wasn’t soggy. I’d walked over the fields from Hullavington on my own, and it was well worth the trip. The landlady and staff were all really friendly and welcoming. Inside feels so comfy, and I spotted a wood burner. I’d like to come back in Autumn or Winter, if not sooner.

Paula is a particularly accommodating host. I’ve stayed here twice, and both rooms were comfortable and decorated really nicely. It’s a quiet spot for a good night’s sleep, yet just off the main trunk road, so getting to nearby towns is easy. I’d definitely stay again.

The cosy fire gave the place a lovely atmosphere, and we enjoyed the food. The landlady was very welcoming and easy to talk to.
