Clara's Cottage

The owner went above and beyond to make things cosy, leaving useful guides and maps for the area. My mum and I spent a week at Clara’s cottage and found it comfortable and convenient for our holiday. Set in a peaceful village in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds, it gave us both some much-needed rest. The beds were exceedingly comfortable, too. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a lovely part of the world.

The kids asked if we could live here, which says a lot about how homely and well equipped the cottage felt. We’ve visited Yorkshire regularly, and this is the best location we’ve stayed in. There’s plenty for families to do nearby, along with villages and towns for a wander and cream tea, castles and ruins, moorland walks and days at the beach. I’ll leave the exploring to you, but the cottage has a mountain of leaflets and maps, and even on our 6th or 7th Yorkshire visit we found new places. We had lovely warm weather, yet the cottage stayed cool, so no hot, sleepless nights. For cooler weather, there’s a large log burner in the living room. The place has loads of character, and a lot of thought has gone into making it welcoming for a fun week with family. The kitchen appliances made my wife happy, the kids enjoyed many a whirlpool bath, and the living room was cosy and comfortable. In the evenings, once the kids were asleep, we could sign into our Netflix account on the smart TV, with WiFi speeds easily up to everyday use. There are also lots of DVDs, board games and books for guests who don’t have younger children going to bed early. What a wonderful cottage and beautiful setting for a week of family fun and adventure. Thanks for a great stay, we’ll definitely be back!

We slept more soundly than ever, thanks to the quiet, dark nights and very comfortable beds, and came home feeling refreshed. Clara's is peaceful, cosy and comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing break in the Yorkshire Wolds. The welcome pack, local information book and log burner helped us feel at home straight away. From the cottage, there are chances to visit the coast, historic market towns, stately homes and lovely walking routes. Thank you, Catherine!

Catherine has thought of everything, so Clara’s feels like a home from home. The cottage is charming, immaculate and a delight to stay in, with really comfortable beds and top quality Egyptian cotton bedding. After a day exploring, the log burner is a real treat. The enclosed garden feels very safe for dogs or children, and there’s a lovely dog walk just across the lane. The scenery is amazing, like a David Hockney painting. It’s perfectly placed for exploring the Yorkshire Wolds and East Coast.
