The host gave me the wrong address, then got defensive and argumentative instead of owning the mistake. He was rude, indifferent and thoroughly unprofessional throughout. I couldn't sleep until about 3:00 a.m. because a couple in a nearby room were loudly arguing. I messaged the host several times while it was happening, worried it could escalate, but got dismissive, underwhelming replies. The property also smelled awful, from a dirty, offensive odor to strong weed smoke throughout. It seemed like guests could smoke whatever they wanted, at the expense of everyone else's comfort. This was by far my worst stay. I don't recommend it to anyone. Poor service and a careless host who clearly doesn't care about the people staying there. Please stay away, it isn't worth it.

The smell hit as soon as we entered the building: an incredibly strong odor of baby feces that spread through the place and into our room. We collected the keys from a safe lock, but the room was nothing like the ad. The kitchen door had a missing piece of glass, the cooker was filthy and missing parts, the shower was broken and swung between very hot and very cold, and there were broken plug sockets in the room. We ended up booking somewhere else. We'd stayed with you in Cardiff and had a good experience, so we expected this to be positive too. Instead, two rubbish nights ruined my few days in Manchester. I won't use oyo again after this. I posted the actual ad photo alongside a picture of what we got. Exquisite? Not at all. Would I return? No, I'd rather pitch a tent. I'm pretty damn certain the poor conditions triggered a chest infection. A few days after those two nights, I had a bad infection. Coincidence? Nope. I'm beyond pissed off about this.

The host gave us the wrong address, so we had to spend twice as much on Uber just to find the place. As soon as we arrived, the entrance reeked of urine. The kitchen and bathroom were disgustingly filthy, and taking a bath was a nightmare because the water kept swinging between scalding hot and freezing cold. Next-door guests were constantly shouting and quarrelling, and we felt genuinely unsafe. We contacted the host because we were worried things might escalate, but our complaint was ignored and nothing was done. This was easily one of the worst places I've stayed. There was nothing exquisite about it, I don't recommend it, and I won't be back. The owners would need to do a complete, urgent renovation if they want to stay in business. Anything worth doing is worth doing properly, and this place falls far short.

For the price my brother paid, the stay was good. The room itself wasn't great, though. The bathroom door wouldn't lock, the smoke alarm didn't work, and the fridge had been locked.
