The update says they offered me a 10% refund. That’s a joke, the stay should have cost 10% of what I paid. Their response was a generic copy-and-paste message, and although they keep saying the place isn’t up to standard, they don’t seem to have done anything to stop more complaints. The whole thing was a fiasco, and calling it a guest house feels like the punchline. Sleep in a skip if you want somewhere cleaner. The rats would probably be more useful than the staff, and it might have more facilities. It started badly, too. Check-in was delayed for “maintenance issues,” and they offered an impractical alternative miles away. When we could finally check in, the Google address was wrong. After a short walk through a ropey area, we still couldn’t get inside. We called three numbers and knocked for about ten minutes in the rain before someone let us in and showed us to what felt like a cell. There was no TV or kettle. A staff member shrugged and said he could get tea, though I wasn’t sure what we’d do with tea bags. We could have managed without those things, but they shouldn’t advertise them if they aren’t provided. The place was poorly cleaned, which should be a basic priority. I wish I’d read the reviews instead of trusting the booking site. It spoiled what should have been a great getaway.

The location made it easy to get around, and the bedroom and bathroom were clean and well kept. The staff were polite and the service was really good. I was very happy with the stay and hope to come back. Keep it up, and all the best.

The building was hard to get into. Nobody answered the door, and the number on the booking site put me through to the OYO main line, which sent me to another number, possibly the owner. Someone eventually called back, but first they wanted a screenshot of my booking sent to their phone. It took about ten minutes before I got the access code. There were no towels on the bed, so we couldn’t shower. When I called, they apologised and told us to take towels from 'room 1', where we found just one for the three of us to share. They promised to bring more that evening, but never did. The faulty shower was a pain to turn on and off. There was chewed gum on top of the kettle, and the walls beside the bed were disgusting. The area was run down and we didn’t feel safe. The rooms looked nothing like the photos, and people were smoking inside the building. A really bad experience.

I gave this place one star because there wasn’t an option for zero. We arrived around 11.45pm and were assigned Room 5 upstairs, reached by steep stairs. There was a strange smell in the building, and the room was one of the dirtiest I’ve ever stayed in. The curtains were dirty, the room smelled bad, and the walls were stained. Worst of all, there were bed bugs. We couldn’t sleep all night, and I got 15-20 bites. We left at 5am after only five hours, although we’d booked two nights. The caretaker acknowledged the bed bugs and agreed to speak with the manager about a refund. They returned just 35% of our money, and the property has never responded since I developed serious health problems from the bites. The place was in a horrific state, filthy and full of bed bugs. Avoid it if you want a nice trip.

The photos make it look clean, but the place was disgraceful and dirty from top to bottom. I had to be let in by another guest because it was cold and raining outside. After trying three phone numbers, I was told they’d overbooked and given yet another number to call for a refund. Days later, nobody answers that line, it just goes to voicemail. I’ve left several messages without a reply and am waiting 14 days for the bank to refund me. If you’re reading this, seriously look elsewhere!
