The staff made a stressful stay much easier. I unexpectedly ended up stuck in Manchester for almost two weeks because of the Middle East airspace closure, and the manager in particular went out of her way to help. I won't forget that support. The reception team were consistently warm and professional, and I had some lovely conversations with them. My room was quiet, clean, comfortable and well cared for. The bed was excellent, and housekeeping kept everything spotless. Check-in was quick and friendly after a long journey. Breakfast each morning was fresh and tasty, with good coffee and attentive service. I had a fantastic experience and would happily recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Manchester.

The staff were welcoming, and I was able to leave my luggage before check-in, which was handy. The internet was fast enough to stream without lag, and the breakfast buffet starts early and has the usual English options. The hotel is close to transport, tourist spots, and plenty of bars, pubs and restaurants, yet the area was fairly quiet. The room felt a little dated and worn in atmosphere, even though there weren't obvious signs of wear. There's no gym or fridge in the rooms.

A really handy spot for AO Arena and Printworks, and the bar gives you 20% off when you show your show tickets. The rooms were very clean and had air conditioning. For a budget hotel it had a Premier sort of feel. The only thing we didn't like was how soft the bed was.

The sofa bed was rough to sleep on. It might suit a small child, but with two tall guys travelling, I was the one who ended up on it, and it wasn't comfortable for an adult. The room itself was fine for a couple of nights, the staff were amazing, and the location was ideal for seeing the city.

Breakfast was lovely, with enough choice to suit everyone, and our room was spacious, clean and lovely. The staff were friendly, polite and easy to approach. I can't think of a single complaint. I don't stay in hotels much these days, but if I need one again, I'll definitely look for a Holiday Inn. Highly recommend.
