The beds were uncomfortable, the room was cold and noisy, and £280 for a "Premium Double" didn't feel worth it. I wouldn't recommend this stay. The Duty Manager apologised repeatedly, took 15% off the bill and covered our parking, which I appreciated, but it still felt like a lot for a room without the basics of comfort and quiet. The primary glazing had been left open and I couldn't shut all the windows. Even with the secondary glazing closed, it was freezing and loud near the station. My mum had to sleep with her coat over the duvet to keep warm. The room was tastefully decorated but shabby, with badly stained and torn "cloud chairs" and a chipped sink. The pillows were saggy and offered no support. We got just one shower cap, though the toiletries were nice. The hotel isn't suited to disabled travellers. There are lots of steps, and our room had a bath-over-shower setup, which was a real struggle for my mum. The linked NCP car park is a five-minute walk away, awkward with luggage and mobility issues. I hadn't researched the layout enough while distracted by a kitchen remodel and the excitement of Harry Styles tickets. Before we arrived, the phone staff were dismissive about disabled parking and said no to a late checkout. On site, the team was lovely: the front desk helped us to our room after we arrived at midnight, and our breakfast waitress was a star who helped arrange a tray for my mum. The breakfast buffet was good, but the coffee was awful.

We had a smooth checkout, and they even gave us free water to take along. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice and good quality items. After our night out, we came back to find the room turned down, chocolates on the bed, pillow spray and the heating on. Such a cozy touch. The beds were extremely comfortable, the shower was great and the toiletries were complimentary. The room felt spacious and luxurious, with a snack tray, complimentary fudge for club members, and cold water and milk in the fridge. The lobby decor is beautiful, and Britney at the front desk gave us a warm welcome. Check-in was quick and easy, with a complimentary drink at the bar. The staff were brilliant throughout and nothing was too much trouble. We'll definitely stay again.

The Kimpton Clocktower is gorgeous, and the staff were very friendly. Our one gripe was that there was no concierge or anyone to bring our luggage up after check-in, which isn't ideal with heavy bags. We had a fantastic two-day stay and would recommend it.

We had a lovely stay, and the reception staff were welcoming and helpful. The rooms were beautiful, large, clean and comfortable, with impressive big windows and a handy fridge. The adjoining bar has lovely decor and atmosphere. Check-in and checkout were handled professionally. Breakfast had lots of choice and lovely fresh fruit, and the spread was great overall. We booked for four adults but found only three sets of towels, two mugs, not much coffee or milk, and two dressing gowns and pairs of slippers. We managed, and I'm sure they'd have brought more if we'd asked, but those things should already have been there. There were no vegan alternatives to sausages or bacon, and no dairy-free porridge, unlike the trusty Premier Inn. Breakfast staff weren't very attentive; for instance, no one offered more coffee after the first mug. More vegan choices for evening meals would've been welcome too. The food was very expensive, though the £6 portion of chips was tasty.

The breakfast and food were good, and most of the staff gave excellent service. One older, grumpy woman at reception seemed quite unenthusiastic, though. For a high-end hotel, I was disappointed by the bedding and pillows in the room. The corridors smelled strongly of hospital cleaning products, and the floors looked old and due for refurbishment. The herringbone flooring especially seemed dated and had a lot of noticeable flaws.
