Luther King House

The staff were friendly, the location felt relaxed, and parking was available. The rest was disappointing. The floor still had crumbs from the previous guest, there was mess on the bathroom ceiling, and the towels were stained. The mattress was uncomfortable, and breakfast offered very little choice. We could hear far too much through the walls. Someone in a neighboring room was having intimate relations, and we were woken up and had to lie there listening. The place feels quite run down, especially for what it costs.

There were several people partying into the early hours, and the rooms looked very dated. It has a hostel kind of feel, which is fine, but this definitely isn't a safe area.

The green, natural courtyard is a lovely part of the place, and there's a bus stop right nearby with frequent services to the airport and city centre. I've stayed here twice now, and as a student I think it's excellent. The staff are really nice and feel like family. I'm very happy with my stays and would love to come back soon. In my view, it's better than Premier Inn or Travelodge.

I only chose this place because it was close to where I needed to be. It's extremely dirty and falling apart, and badly needs a deep clean. The mattress felt like the cheapest, oldest one possible, and now my back hurts. Some staff were pleasant and nice, while others seemed like zombies. I wouldn't recommend staying here at all. I should have gone to the Travel Lodge, which was £20 less per night.
