My daughter was visiting a friend in Manchester when she got separated from her in the early hours. She didn't know where she was or how to get back to her accommodation. Premier Inn Portland Street took her in and kept her safe, even though they were fully booked because of the Brit Awards in the city. Ryan at reception assured us they'd look after her until we could travel from Cardiff to collect her. We're so grateful to Ryan and the rest of the staff on duty. It's frightening to think what might have happened if she'd been left wandering the streets at that time. Thank you for all your help and kindness.
The hotel was nice and clean, and both check-in and the luggage storage room were good. It was a real price-performance hotel, and I loved it. The air conditioning in my room didn't work, so they put in an electric heater, which made the room really warm. The bathroom stayed a little cold, and the hot water pressure wasn't very good, but it was okay.
The air conditioning barely worked at all, and the room was very dusty. My wife has asthma, so I had to take apart the room fan because it was caked in dust. The first-floor toilets for guests using the bar and restaurant were in a bad state. Both cubicles had boot prints over the toilets, and there was rubble from light repairs above them, along with screws and cable left behind. It showed very little consideration for customers using the facilities, and seemed completely unprofessional if the work was being done by Premier Inn staff.
Steven, a team member whose surname I didn't catch, went above and beyond to get my lost hair straighteners back to me from Manchester to Liverpool. He helped me all week and even took the package to the post office himself. I tend to forget to double check before leaving a room, and he saved me a couple of hundred pounds on a replacement pair. If he sees this, he deserves a bonus. Thanks so much! It's a great hotel, and I always stay here when I'm in Manchester. This level of help made it even better. Thanks again!
I've stayed here before and was back for one night on a business trip. The staff made check-in efficient and easy. My room, 230, was at the back of the hotel, so it was very quiet. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped with tea and coffee, and the shower was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and I slept really well. Another good stay, and I'll be back for work or leisure.
