Getting into town was easy enough. The tram is a 10-minute walk away and costs £2.80 one way across two zones. An Uber was £9 one way, even after midnight. There’s an easy route from the motorway and plenty of free parking. The location worked well for the AO Arena and meant avoiding city-centre traffic and parking. Reception were helpful with transport and places to eat. The bed was comfortable, the WiFi worked well, and the shower over the bath had plenty of hot water and good pressure. Breakfast was self-service and pre-ordered, with a generous amount and lots of choice. Good value for money. The room stayed warm even with the radiator off, so I opened the window. Unfortunately, at 6am two residents were talking loudly outside before getting into their van and woke me up. That wasn’t the hotel’s fault. Some parts could do with freshening up: the room’s skirting and architrave need paint, and the bar and breakfast room ceilings had cracks and water marks, with holes where downlights were missing.

We had a pleasant stay and I’d recommend the hotel. It’s a beautiful place, and our room was spotless and comfortable. Downstairs there’s a lovely lounge with a very small bar. Based on just our one visit, they didn’t have Jack Daniels or brandy, but there were lots of other choices. We didn’t have breakfast, so can’t comment on it, though the setup looked good.

The tram stop is very close, handy for getting around Manchester and the surrounding area. It’s a lovely building, the location’s great, and all the staff were brilliant. Receptionist Julie was an absolute star. I’d highly recommend a stay here. We’ll be back! 😁👍

We appreciated being able to use the fridge, freezer and microwave for our meals. The hotel is simple but cosy and comfortable, with free parking and an easy tram ride into Manchester that takes about 20 minutes. A few things could be better. The WiFi was patchy, especially for video streaming or work, and the front desk staff could have been friendlier and more proactive at times. Some areas, including our room 11, need redecorating. The radiators were on constantly in both the lobby and rooms, making it unbearably hot. In September that felt unnecessary and wasteful. They should be turned down or off, especially in early autumn.

The place had a lovely, homely feel and was very clean, and the staff were friendly. The pillows could have been better, and the toilet in our room was squeezed against the wall, which made it awkward to use. Even so, we plan to return next time we’re in the area.
