Victor was very helpful, thank you. The hotel was clean and tidy and well placed for the Coop Live venue. The price is reasonable, so it was good value for money. Parking is very limited and can’t be reserved. There may not be much the hotel can do, but it would help if they looked into safe alternatives for guests. We booked parking at the venue at the last minute, left the car there overnight and walked back. That worked well and cost £25. The entrance is easy to miss, so better signage would help. When the hotel next gets refurbished, I’d suggest hard floors, as the carpets didn’t look clean, although I’m sure they were.

The room was clean, tidy and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. It’s in a perfect spot for the co-op live, with parking available nearby. We had two problems: the bathroom door wouldn’t latch and swung open while someone was using it, and the shower was scalding hot because the thermostat valve was faulty. It couldn’t be used, so all we could do was wash quickly at the sink. I told the staff, who apologised and said it would be fixed. We’d still go back, but I’ll be checking the showers in hotel rooms from now on.

The room was great, and the hotel is in a good spot. There was just one issue: the bathroom door wouldn’t shut. You had to hold it while using the toilet, or the other person had to brace it with the stool.

We booked two separate rooms for a Friday concert at co op live. It’s around a 25-minute walk from the venue, and frequent buses stop across the road and take about 10 minutes to reach the centre. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, and the guy at reception was lovely. The club/restaurant downstairs was closed during our stay, so I can’t say what the noise levels are like.
