Travelodge Manchester Central Arena

The breakfast staff were lovely, really helpful and welcoming. The Travelodge breakfast itself was fine for what it costs. My room was clean, though the TV didn’t work and the sink had no plug. It’s very noisy at the moment because of the high-rise construction next door. They were working on the second floor at the end of February 26, so this may carry on for a while. Their site blocks the pavement on the hotel side of the street. There’s more construction further down on the way to Victoria, too, so what should be a quick, easy walk means crossing back and forth several times.

Plenty of room, and it was clean and comfortable. The price for the space is hard to beat if you’re travelling on a budget. I really liked having the option to pay a little extra for a room with a coffee machine. The wall radiator was strong enough for winter, although I’d have preferred a thicker duvet. Good hotel, and I’d stay again.

The bathroom didn’t have a toilet brush, which left me wondering about the hygiene arrangements, and the toiletries supplied were very poor quality. Those were the two unexpected issues. Aside from that, I came away with a good impression: the place was clean, neat, compact and comfortable, with pleasant staff and a calm atmosphere. I hope they address those points, as that would make the stay fully positive.

I felt welcome from the moment I arrived. The woman at check-in was lovely, and the security staff I met later were just as friendly and helpful. I had a print I needed to send back, and one of the women there kindly gave me rubbish bags to pack it in, which saved me a lot of hassle. The hotel was spotless and the rooms were spacious. I was on the 5th floor and didn’t hear any noise from the construction next door. The location is great for the arena and the centre, and it’s easy to find from Victoria or pretty much anywhere. Everything worked out perfectly for me, and I’d definitely stay again. Thanks for making me feel so welcome 🙏
