Lodge at Tap Haus

The WiFi was shocking and really needs fixing so you can actually connect with your phone. The room itself was nice, especially with the air con keeping it cool. The toilet is quite close to the radiator, so you could catch yourself on it if you’re not careful. There was a message written on the bathroom mirror by someone who’d stayed before. I might have found it funny, but my partner’s daughter didn’t when she stepped out of the shower and saw it 🤣

We had a pre-Christmas meal on Friday evening while my daughter was visiting. She’s vegetarian and found plenty on the menu to suit her. The restaurant was busy with a large office group celebrating Christmas, but we didn’t need a booking. The service was attentive, and we enjoyed the well-presented main and dessert courses.

We stayed at the Tap Haus and ate there too. The room was clean and tidy, and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The pork was among the best we’ve ever had. We didn’t catch the young man’s name, but he was lovely and made us feel very welcome. We had a minor issue during the stay, and it was sorted immediately, even though it wasn’t the hotel’s fault. We warmly recommend it.

The food was fantastic, and every member of staff was warm, welcoming, and happy to accommodate all our requests. We were here for work, and from the moment we pulled up, the place looked like somewhere with real quality and class. Our room was clean, tidy, and nicely presented. Very impressed, and we’d definitely come again.
