Breakfast was a real highlight, with the chef serving delicious dishes from his pink aga in such an intimate, memorable setting. We also loved the cocktails at the bar, among the best we've had in ages. They were so good we nearly drank them out of southside cocktails! For our first trip to Margate, we spent an incredible weekend at Margate House Hotel and are already thinking about coming back. Our gorgeous room was beautifully designed, very comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing, luxurious stay. It felt like a home away from home, only better. Suze and her team made us feel at home right from arrival. Suze was warm and bubbly and had brilliant recommendations that kept us busy all weekend. Everyone looked after us so well from beginning to end. A huge thank you to Suze and the whole team. We can't wait to return.
We dropped in for a Friday night drink, and the bar snacks and drinks were great. Willy's, as it's also called, looks beautiful. The refurbishment, colours and design show so much attention to detail, and the furnishings were just right and really comfortable. Amy, the Manager, was brilliant, and the bar staff were chatty and engaging. Just wow!
Suze welcomed us so warmly, and chatting with Carmen at the bar was lovely. The service was excellent but comfortably casual, with great conversation and no big bells and whistles. The hotel is gorgeous, even better than the pictures, and the Le Labo products added a touch of luxury. There are lovely personal details throughout, like gameboys in the living room, a kitsch radio and Middlesex, coincidentally my favourite book, on the bedside table. I booked Margate House for a romantic getaway with my partner, and we had a ball from arrival until we reluctantly left. I couldn't fault anything. We'll definitely be back when the restaurant opens. Can't wait!
Parking was easy, free and just across the lane from the hotel. The beach is about a five minute walk, and everything else seemed within a 10-25 minute walk. My sister and I were touring England for my bachelorette party when my fiancée surprised me by booking this boutique hotel. Arriving at night, we found a cosy, warm and comforting place, with the fireplace crackling, lemon water set out, board games and books, and a charming fully stocked bar. The staff were so welcoming and helpful, giving us tips for dinner, breakfast and things to see and do. They made a delicious cocktail for my sister and a mocktail for me! The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was amazing with great water pressure. It was so cosy and relaxing. I can't wait to come back in the summertime!
Our room was on the small side, but cosy and comfortable, with a very comfy bed and all the little details considered. On arrival, the friendly and helpful team whisked us straight to the bar for a drink while we waited to check in. The hotel decor is gorgeous, and the place itself is stunning. One of the best hotels we've ever visited. Absolutely loved it and couldn't recommend it highly enough!
