The sea view is lovely, and the place seems to put on good events. But I found the atmosphere tense when I visited: people were spilling pints and wandering behind the bar. I don’t know the area, so maybe that’s usual, and there wasn’t really anything the staff could have done. Still a shame when you’ve come to enjoy the music.

I sat outside with a pint, looking out at the sea while a great drum and guitar duo played live. It’s a lovely traditional pub, and the staff were kind. The food looked good, though I didn’t try any. Had a good time and I’ll stop by again next time I’m in Margate.

We had Christmas lunch here, and it was excellent. I’m not sure how they manage that quality for the price. The view out to sea is great, and the staff are exceptionally welcoming. It has that friendly, old-fashioned feel. Highly recommend it.

I went to see my mate play with his band, StudWerk, which is a peculiar name considering. Had a really good time, with friendly people and a lovely atmosphere. It’s a great pub in the artistic end of Margate, with a big garden facing the sea. Sitting in the sun with a Coke and hearing live music again was brilliant.

The Sunday roast is especially good, and there’s plenty on the menu for the whole family. Dogs are welcome, too, and the beer garden is big. Excellent pub, with great bar staff and good live music. The landlords are brilliant, top quality.
