We were right in the center of the megalithic stone henge around Avebury, and it was peaceful despite being directly across from the Red Lion pub. Our comfortable room had an excellent selection of vitals. The friendly, accommodating and informative host made us feel welcome. Through the window we watched jackdaw and crow exploring the greens in a field with standing stones. The resident cat was the highlight of our stay, and we felt blessed to have its company.

Waking up and seeing the Avebury stones was such a special feeling. Silbury house is a beautiful, unusual place, and we had a lovely room, a really comfortable bed and plenty of breakfast. The hosts were so warm and friendly. I’d love to come back.

Steve and Donna made us feel at home straight away, and the double room has a gorgeous view of two stones in the inner circle. There are only two rooms, one double and one twin, and neither has an ensuite, but the bathrooms are lovely. Everything was spotless, with thoughtful details like reclaimed wood furniture, a designer bedspread and a comfy mattress. Breakfast comes in the room as a good selection of chilled food, enough for us to make little sandwiches for the next day. One of the nicest guest houses we’ve stayed in. You won’t regret a visit to Silbury House, Avebury.

The owners were lovely, and our short stay at Silbury House was so comfortable and clean. The house seems to sit right in the centre of the Avebury stone circle. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re staying over in Avebury.

There’s something magical about the house being right in the middle of the stones and partly made from them. We come back often, and the place and its host are great.
