The candle on the table and a beautiful rose made our Valentine’s Day date feel special, and the staff, Harry and Emma, were attentive and lovely. We came to the Marlborough for a meal and weren’t disappointed. My sausages and mash were phenomenal, while my partner’s cheeseburger and chips were great, especially the crispy, perfect chips. I’d recommend a visit.

The roast beef was perfectly pink, with spot-on potatoes and a lovely Yorkshire pudding. We also tried a new menu addition, a delicious rum baba. We came to The Marlborough from London for a countryside Sunday roast and enjoyed the meal and drinks. The menu was excellent, with Southcott English sparkling wine, a Rioja Gran Reserva and a brilliant Rumbana Old Fashioned recommended by Hannah, the assistant manager. Staff were attentive without hovering, and it’s nice that the venue is animal-friendly. We were told rooms would be opening in the coming months after refurbishment, so that’s a reason to return.

It feels like this pub is back. The welcome was warm, and you can tell it’s had a great revival. We had a superb Sunday roast, cooked just right, full of flavour and served in generous portions. We’ll be back for another one soon! 🍽️🔥

A really lovely Saturday lunch after a trip out from Bath. We chose well from the many food options: superb skate, a lovely burger and nice local ale. The staff looked after us brilliantly, including the lady I took to be the manager or owner.

They weren’t sure whether food would be available, but said they’d let us know at 6pm. The menu arrived at our table right on time. The food was delicious and the service was 10/10. Crispy onions on pasta are a game changer, yum! There was a good wine selection, and my glass of malbec was delicious. The tasty cheese selection came with pretty biscuits.
