We spent three days here with family over Christmas, and the cheerful staff made sure we were always well fed and had drinks. Their attention to detail and good spirits really stood out. The rooms were comfortable, and ours was large. The hotel, grounds and food were all lovely, and the whole place was decorated for Christmas, with trees everywhere and a fire going constantly in the great Hall. A small local choir led carols in the great hall on Christmas Eve, which set a lovely tone for the days that followed. The food was plentiful and amazing, and there were often snacks and champagne in the great Hall. We also got out for a few walks in bright sunshine. A very enjoyable place for a special occasion.

We came for my partner’s birthday and were so happy with the stay. The staff even left a birthday card in the room for our arrival. The hotel and gardens are beautiful, looking out over the thames, and we spotted mandarin ducks by the ponds and a parakeet. The food was excellent and worth the price. Best sole I’ve had in years. The spa was great for relaxing, and I’d definitely go back.

Inside, the public spaces are elegant and quiet, which makes it easy to switch off. The pool area is peaceful, and the spa is laid out well for relaxing. Rooms are comfortable and tastefully done in a classic style. Staff are professional and polite, attentive when needed without hovering. A good choice for a calm break focused on scenery and understated luxury.

After a busy day exploring, this is a lovely place to unwind, with views over the river Thames. The accommodation was spotless and the bed really comfortable. The staff were professional and made us feel at ease straight away. We didn’t get to use the spar, but hope to stay here again next time we’re in the area. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
