Chestnut Farm Holiday Cottages

We had easy access to the local area, both by car and on foot, and the accommodation was in a lovely quiet spot. It was well presented and well maintained. I did have to reset the clocks to the right time, though, as they’d started to bug me after the second day.

We’ve returned a few times over the past few years, and the cottages are absolutely gorgeous, beautiful and well equipped for self-catering. There’s plenty to see and do nearby for adults and children alike. We’ll definitely be back again!

Dairy Cottage was very clean and comfortable for our four-night stay. Liz was friendly and accommodating, and communication was great. There was a hamper with milk, biscuits, wine and toiletries waiting for us. A lovely setting too.

There’s so much to do a short distance away. We visited Heights Of Abraham, Matlock, Dovedale stepping stones, Gullivers world and Twycross Zoo, among other highlights. The location is beautiful, and the owners were friendly throughout our stay, with suggestions for places to visit, parking and which routes to take. Our family group had a perfect week across three cottages, all impeccably clean and furnished to a very high standard. We’ve already pencilled in some dates for summer 2019, and hope to visit in winter too, as the scenery must be amazing. Great for families, couples or individuals. We’ll be recommending it to friends and family and can’t wait to return!
