We stayed for five days and felt right at home. The whole house was clean and well equipped, and the underfloor heating was a real treat. Our dog seemed to think so too. There’s the Tavern almost across the road, and the Gate Inn is a short walk away for good food and drinks. I was also impressed by the book about the house that guests can read. Would happily stay again.

We spent a long weekend with friends at Oakwood Lodge, and it was just right for relaxing together. The open, modern feel still made it cosy, and it was bright and had everything we needed. The countryside is a short walk away, and so is The Gate Inn for a meal or a drink. Highly recommend!

The countryside around Oakwood Lodge is beautiful, with walks right nearby, and the area felt peaceful and welcoming. We were there as a family, and found the layout accessible and easy with the kids, thanks to the thoughtful touches. The lodge itself mixes a cosy feel with a modern style really well. We especially liked the nearby Gate Inn pub. A great place for a relaxing family break.

Oakwood Lodge’s sister property is only a couple of minutes’ walk from the main house, so booking both would work well for a larger group. We’ve stayed at the main house before, and were pleased to find the same care and quality here. This smaller lodge suited our group of friends, with what we needed for a comfortable, relaxing break. A lovely setup in a beautiful spot.

We were travelling around the UK and Europe and wanted to spend some time in the Peak District. Oakwood Lodge made a great base for our small group of friends. The open-plan kitchen and dining area was especially good for sharing meals and catching up, and there are lovely walks nearby, including around Riber Castle. The house felt both modern and cosy. A peaceful, comfortable place to enjoy the scenery, and I’d recommend it.
