The Treebridge Hotel

The food was delicious when my friend and I came in for dinner on Monday, but the service really stood out. Freya and Mark took such good care of us. We’ll definitely be back.

We were the first group in for Sunday lunch at 12, an eleven-person party, and the staff were friendly when we arrived. We had to get our own drinks from the bar, though, and there was some confusion taking the order because a few of our older guests have trouble hearing. The menu had plenty of choice for most of us, but the vegetarian option was very limited. We were offered a spicy dish or a nut burger with vegetables, and the latter arrived as just vegetables and a Yorkshire pudding. The starters were okay. Most people seemed to enjoy their meals, but some food wasn't very hot, and mine was completely cold. I told a waitress, who apologized and took it away to be reheated. It came back hot. Service was slow even though we weren't in a hurry. We arrived at noon and didn't leave until 3:15, well after later-arriving diners had gone. At roughly £30-£40 per person, I think the service needs attention. I won't recommend the place.

The team at Treebridge Restaurant & Hotel were friendly and attentive throughout, and made us feel welcome without hovering. We found it a comfortable, relaxed place, whether coming for a meal, a stay, or both. The food was fresh, full of flavour, and nicely prepared. Portions felt generous without being too much, and the menu offered a good mix of familiar choices and quality dishes. Everything seemed carefully put together. It's a dependable place to eat and stay, and I'd happily recommend it.

I mentioned the meal to our waitress, though I don't really like complaining. She said I should have raised it at the time. Three of us ordered fish and chips, and the fish wasn't as nice as usual while the chips were hard, crisp, and cold. There were only two people covering both the bar and restaurant. I've stayed at Treebridge before and usually rate it highly, especially the food, so yesterday felt below their normal standard. I'll come back another time and hope it's better. Having read other reviews, I think the owner should take a look before they start losing customers.
